Gardner/Fox was recently selected as the Construction Manager for the HMS School’s new Dormitory Addition and Renovation project. Located in the historic Philadelphia neighborhood of Spruce Hill, the HMS School is a campus of linked buildings offering educational opportunities and therapeutic programs for both resident and day students, ages 2 to 21, afflicted with motor impairments or other disabilities resulting from cerebral palsy or traumatic brain injury.
The project, designed by Hooper Shiles Architects, encompasses a new two-story addition including new dormitory rooms and nursing facilities on the first floor with administrative uses on the second floor. This project also includes expansion/renovation of the existing cafeteria, renovation of existing dormitory rooms into classrooms and the installation of a new elevator, stairs and ramps.
Gardner/Fox is currently providing pre-construction services, with construction scheduled to begin in June.
