This homeowner desperately wanted a more open kitchen layout. Removing a peninsula of cabinets opened up the floor plan to the dining area, making the room feel much more spacious and functional. The outdated wood cabinetry was nixed in favor of an all-white color palette, from the brand new overhead cabinetry to the built-in refrigerator and subway tile backsplash. Visually, the updated kitchen is clean, bright, and classic.
New wide plank flooring maintains the home’s historic character and gives it that comfortable lived-in feeling.
The next piece in this renovation was the enormous center island. We love this island for its custom gray timber wolf color (thanks to Village Handcrafted Cabinetry), which matches the honed Calcutta Macchi Veccia marble top. The island also contains a built-in mini fridge, as well as seating and additional storage space.
The star of the show is an 86″ Lacanche Range, in French blue. The hand painted ceramic tile back splash contains the accent blue, pulling the whole kitchen together and creating a rich vintage look. To see more photos of this beautiful kitchen visit our houzz site, here!
