Malvern, PA – There was nothing really wrong with the kitchen, it was just slightly dated, a tad small, and kind of bland. So when the homeowner decided to remodel their humdrum kitchen they really got cooking, spicing it up with a little Italian flavor. First, the 10 x 16-foot space needed to loosen up to accommodate the couple and their six growing children. Sandwiched between the family room and the dining room, the only way to grow was out the back.
The old kitchen was gutted and the back wall extended to include a wood-fired pizza oven, breakfast room, laundry room, mudroom, powder room, pantry, and serving area with wet bar. The kitchen continues through French doors to a covered wrap-around entertainment deck with an outdoor fireplace.
