Conshohocken, Pennsylvania – Don Shula’s latest restaurant, Shula’s 347 Grill, recently opened in the Philadelphia West Marriott in Conshohocken. Named for Shula’s 347 victories as a head coach in the NFL, this is the second restaurant Gardner/Fox has constructed for the Shula’s chain of restaurants. The first was built at what is now the Sheraton Center City Hotel.
Shula’s Steak Houses LLP is a franchise company that primarily works with hotels. The Philadelphia West Marriott is owned by Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc., a real estate investment trust that owns 51 hotels nationwide and is located in San Clemente, CA.
The conversion from the nautical themed Regatta Bar and Grill to Shula’s 347 Grill was completed in seven weeks. The work included full demolition of the existing space, constructing a new private dining room, and renovating the existing atrium. The project features new leather-embossed wall covering, engineered wood flooring, granite table tops and bar, and millwork. Plasma televisions and a new audio/visual system were also added.
Mike Rodden, General Manager of the Philadelphia West Marriott, said “In terms of working with Gardner/Fox Associates, we found them very professional and easy to work with. As a hotel, we had a lot of business needs that had to be worked around and we found the entire team to be flexible and accommodating when we needed to change the timing of the work. The finished product was better than expected and makes a great first impression for our guests. Gardner/Fox would be our first choice if we were doing a similar project in the future.”
