This week we have a very special employee spotlight, Mrs. Holly Charles! Holly works in the marketing department, with a focus on our marketing materials and all things graphic design.
Before joining us, Holly worked for Freeman Design, a boutique design agency with a wide variety of clients from Villanova University to Lankenau Hospital. She started at Gardner/Fox in 2006, but in 2012 decided to head back home. After moving to North Carolina, Holly continued as a part-time employee working remotely and is still with us 11 years later — now joining us from Chicago, IL!
Holly’s favorite project is usually the one she’s working on at the moment. Right now, it’s our brand new landing pages! Holly enjoys the freedom of creativity and bringing fresh energy and insight to every new project that comes her way.
Outside of her work with Gardner/Fox, Holly enjoys spending time with friends and family. She has a 9 year-old daughter who loves volleyball and science and a very active 3 year-old son who loves firetrucks and Paw Patrol. In addition, she is a member of the Libertyville Running Club, and volunteers with Little Hands Big Hearts, an organization which brings children into nursing homes to do arts and crafts with seniors.
One interesting fact few people know about Holly is that she worked in her father’s machine shop as a welder during college. Although she was paid well, she occasionally caught fire or was burned by sparks. She’d like to note that working in a non-air-conditioned warehouse in the southern heat was the perfect motivation to finish her degree.
Whatever the motivation, we’re glad you finished and decided to stick with GFA after all these years! Thank you for all of your creativity and effort, Holly Charles!
