A lot actually. The walls were 12 inch thick reinforced concrete with a 4 inch thick reinforced concrete floor. We should have counted the wrecking ball hits! And just to be clear – we’re not robbing a bank – just building one. The photos above are of the existing vault demolition.
Existing Facility – We’re tearing down a former bank building on a pad site in Plymouth Meeting and building a new one at the same location.
The above drawing set is early design development. The new building will be approximately 2,525 square foot, one-story with a drive-thru. The construction slate includes slab on grade, new utilities (gas, electric, water, fire sprinkler), wood frame, simulated brick veneer, aluminum entries and clearstory windows, metal standing seam roof, LED lighting, and a forced air mechanical system. The site’s getting new curbs, walks, utilities, paving, curbing, and landscaping. The new bank will have a pneumatic tube drive-up teller system, ATM, cash recycler, and coin counter.
Construction scheduled to wrap up in February 2014.
