Gardner/Fox recently completed this country themed basement in Chester County! The 2,560 square foot unfinished basement gave the family a large canvas to create a unique space.
The reclaimed wood wrapped beams and stone walls throughout give the space a rustic character, with all of the modern comforts a family could need. The motivation to finish their basement was to create a space where they could all be together, while simultaneously incorporating each of their own unique interests.
The first stop on the tour is a Gardner/Fox first, the gymnastics room. The client wanted to create a place where their daughter could practice her craft, and we delivered. The room is complete with ceiling to floor mirrors, a ballet bar, and rubber flooring in the event of a fall. There is also access to a storage space along the back wall.
Through the sliding barn door and across the hall is the one of a kind spa bathroom. The custom made sink is built from limestone and reclaimed wood. The spa shower has a beautiful niche, bench, and stone floor. The reclaimed wood was also used to create shelves, for added storage.
In the main living space, you can find the family room, poker table, and bar. As you can see, the sectional sofa is extra large, ensuring that everyone has enough space on movie night. Another fun feature to the family room is the popcorn machine and candy counter!
Behind the sofa, we come to the wet bar. The custom bar, thanks to Village Handcrafted Cabinetry, is the center piece of this brand new basement. It is complete with a soapstone counter top, copper sink, and built in mini-fridge. Conveniently, the bar is located directly between the custom built wine wall, and leather poker table.
The poker table’s gray chairs match the bar stools, and the color of the niche bench. Check out the cool camouflage behind the bench! The panel is actually removable and allows the home owners access to the mechanical system.
Finally, we come through the commercial grade glass sliding doors to the in-home gym. The room also includes wall to ceiling mirrors, as well as hidden storage beneath the stairs for towels or spare weights.
