It has been a while since we broke ground on Stoneleigh, but we can give you an update!

Just as a recap: The Natural Lands Trust was recently granted ownership of the Haas Estate in Villanova and has started on the path to creating a public garden. Gardner/Fox began construction to make this new public space a reality. You can read more about the entire project here.

The Haas family constructed a second home on the West side of their massive estate. The home has been empty for years and has sadly fallen into a state of disrepair. The home’s old location will now hold the welcome center and parking lot for the future Stoneleigh public garden.

The home has now been demolished, as you can see by the photographs below. We are now in the process of clearing debris and will soon be paving the parking lot.

The view from the street has changed as well! We’ve taken out the gates and taken down a few trees to make room for the new updated entrance that will be constructed.

The next stop on our update is the previous pool/pool house. In place of this retro little casita will be Stoneleigh’s pavilion and restroom. The house has been demolished down to the foundation, and in-ground pool will soon follow.
