Jon and Kira Costanza of Sunpower Solar stopped by the Gardner/Fox offices today to give us an update on the latest solar power technology. 

In a nutshell, solar power is, well, hot.  Solar technology has improved and gotten less expensive, federal and state tax credits and other financial incentives have further reduced costs as traditional energy costs continue to rise.  Add it all up and solar is looking better and is more popular than ever. 

Payback… with solar costs decreasing and incentives increasing, solar hot water heating systems can pay for themselves in about 2 years and typical residential solar panel installations can pay you back in 6-7 years. 

Appearance…  by designing an addition or renovation with solar panels in mind, the panels can be kept out of sight, but then again, you may want to show the world how smart and green you are!
