9th Annual Historic House Tour
Saturday, September 28, 2013
Noon – 5 PM
Cost: $35
The 9th Annual Historic House Tour sponsored by the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust will take place this Saturday, September 28. The doors of eight historic properties in Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships will be open to visitors, including private homes, a church and a historic ‘party’ barn. The historic properties on the 2013 house tour date from the mid-18th century to the early 20th century.
In addition to historic houses, the tour includes the historic 19th century First Church of Christ, Scientist in Berwyn. The stunning church dazzles with an 80 ft. high bell tower, beautiful exposed beams and exquisite stained glass windows, and was the first church in Berwyn to have electricity. As a special bonus, the church organist, Dr. James Sullivan will present a special organ performance at 2 PM. Sullivan’s diverse afternoon performance will include traditional organ favorites such as Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, light classics such as Clair de Lune by Debussy and popular theater-organ standards, including pieces by Gershwin and Andrew Lloyd Weber.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Trust’s website.
